The City of Portsmouth Public Works Department maintains and
operates the physical facilities that support and enhance the
lives of the Portsmouth’s residents, businesses, and visitors,
including the City’s street network and storm water systems.
The mission of Public Works is to enhance the quality of life
and protect the public interest by effectively maintaining the
City’s infrastructure while following sound environmental
policies, ensuring applicable code compliance, and consistently
striving for process improvement.
