AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Where food, fun & learning meet in YOUR neighborhood. Portsmouth Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services and the FoodBank of Southeastern Virginia operate Kids Cafés at the following locations Mondays—Fridays (September 21, 2009 – June 4, 2010:

Kids After-school Program consists of Homework Assistance , nutritious kid-friendly free evening meals prepared and served by food professionals, and recreational activities. We provide a safe and nurturing environment. Participants must be between the ages of 6 and 12 and PRE-REGISTERED. Registration materials available at each location. JOIN US for Kids Café Family Nights the 3rd Thursday of each month from 5-7 pm at each location!

Kids Cafe® is a national program founded by Feeding America and administered locally by the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. It is a place where children through 18 years of age can come to receive free, nutritious evening meals in a safe, supportive environment. A Foodbank Nutritionist oversees the program, prepares the menus and provides nutrition education to the children.
